What It Costs, And Why.

We will not pretend a single number fits every home. What we will do is show you exactly how we price permanent lighting, what moves the number, and what is always included so nothing at your estimate is a surprise.

The Model

Measured, Not Guessed

Permanent Lighting

Priced per linear foot of roofline

We measure your roofline and count the exact footage we are covering, including peaks, dormers, and any detached structures you want included. A typical single-family home lands around 100 to 130 linear feet.

Always included:

  • Channel, fixtures, wiring, and controller
  • Professional install and cleanup
  • App pairing, setup, and scheduling
  • Walkthrough and training

The Avid Lighting App

Set up with every install

Every system runs on our own lighting platform: the Avid Lighting app, the controllers on your house, and our support behind both.

Always included:

  • App pairing on install day
  • More than 600 ready-made scenes
  • Sunset schedule and holiday dates set up
  • Family members invited to the app

What Moves The Number

Every house and situation is unique, and several factors can influence the price we quote. The main factors are listed below.

Biggest factor

Linear footage

The primary driver. We measure the roofline and count exactly what we are covering. A typical single-family home runs about 100 to 130 linear feet.

Moderate

Roofline complexity

Multiple gables, dormers, steep pitches, second stories, and detached garages all add install time and separate runs.

Moderate

Zones and runs

More independent zones means more wiring and controller capacity.

Minor to moderate

Access

Anything that makes access harder. Roof height, pitch, landscaping, tight side yards, or even the type of insulation in your roof can all affect the install time.

Varies

Market

Labor and permitting costs genuinely differ between St. George and Tampa, so our per-foot rate differs too.

The Long View

One Cost Instead Of A Recurring One

Permanent lighting replaces an expense you might already be paying for. That reframing matters more than the sticker price.

Seasonal lights vs. permanent

Buying Christmas lights or paying a crew to hang and remove lights every November and January is a recurring annual cost that buys roughly six weeks of use. Permanent lighting is one install that runs year-round. Use it for holiday scenes in December, accent lighting year-round, and celebrate additional holidays with no ladders and nothing in storage.

One company for the whole system

Because the app and controllers are ours, there is no second company to call when a scene will not load or a zone needs renaming. The install, the platform, and every service call after it come from Avid, which keeps the long-term cost of owning the system low.

About the Avid Lighting app

Your Estimate

What To Expect

  1. 1
It takes about 30 to 45 minutes.

Long enough to measure properly, assess your roof, and answer your questions. Not a two-hour sales presentation.

  2. 2
    We design it for you.

You see the footage, light locations, and pricing, so you know exactly what you are paying for.

  3. 3
    You see real examples.

Ask our representatives for photos of comparable homes in your market or browse our gallery to view what the Avid Lighting app looks like running real scenes.

  4. 4
You get a written price before we leave.

It’s all based on what you want for your home. You decide how much lighting you want and where it goes and we quote things based on that.

  5. 5
    Take your time.

Review it, think about it, compare it. When you’re ready to get started, we’ll be here for you.

Pricing Questions

Fair Questions

Why not just publish a price per foot?
Because a single published rate would be wrong for most homes and we would rather not bait you with it. Labor rates differ across our 11 markets, a steep three-gable roofline takes far longer to install than a simple ranch, and zones, access, and detached structures all change the work. A flat number online would either overcharge the easy jobs or make us have to re-quote the more difficult jobs.
Is the estimate really free?
Yes. No charge and no obligation. We measure, show you options, and leave a written price with you. Many homeowners take a quote and install later, which is fine.
Will the final price change after the estimate?
The written price from your on-site estimate is the price. The only way it changes is if you change the scope. Things like adding a detached garage to the lighting run, adding zones, or adding another controller. We will re-quote in writing before doing any of it.
Do you offer financing?
Yes, for qualified buyers. Ask about current terms when you request your quote and we will walk you through what the monthly number looks like alongside the cash price.
Is permanent lighting cheaper than hiring someone every year?
Over a long enough window, almost always. Professional seasonal install-and-removal is a recurring annual cost that buys you about six weeks of use and nothing else. Permanent lighting is one cost that typically pays back in a handful of seasons and then runs year-round as architectural lighting. We break the comparison down in our guide on permanent versus seasonal lights.
Is the app included?
Yes. Every system runs on the Avid Lighting app, our own lighting platform. On install day we pair it with your phone, set up your house, and show you how to get started and invite family members.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. Install, wiring, controller, app setup, programming, and cleanup are all in the price. If something genuinely falls outside scope like an electrical panel issue, for instance, we tell you before we touch it.
